Full details on the Summer 2021 Workshop are available here.

The Latin Workshop is a complete, 10-week intensive Latin course for students with no prior Latin experience.  A tradition at U. C. Berkeley for over 40 years, the workshop is a serious commitment: in addition to six hours of class work everyday, students are expected to spend several hours daily in study and homework preparation. The class replaces more than two semesters of elementary and intermediate Latin. The first portion of the course is devoted to the acquisition of grammar, syntax, and vocabulary through integrated readings; in the second part of the course, students choose two out of four options for intensive reading (with commentaries), such as Virgil and Cicero. The workshop is intended to be an intense but pleasant experience in which a diverse group of students at various stages of their education may work and learn together in a friendly atmosphere.
